The article discusses a new ransomware strain called HybridPetya, which can exploit a patched vulnerability to bypass UEFI Secure Boot on unrevoked Windows systems. This makes it the fourth known bootkit capable of circumventing this security feature and taking control of a PC before the operating system loads.
