About the project

Cosy Holiday Homes lets two three-bedroom holiday homes, Ceann 12 and Ceann 13, at Ceann Mara Court — about a mile from the centre of Kenmare in County Kerry. I replaced the old WordPress site with a custom site and its own booking system. It has been live since 30 September 2026.

What I built

  • Availability and prices per house and per season, bookable online
  • Payment by Stripe or PayPal — each house with its own account, because the houses are run separately
  • Calendar sync with Booking.com and Airbnb every fifteen minutes, so a house is never double-booked
  • Booking rules the owners asked for: no same-day bookings, next-day bookings until 19:00 Irish time, and gaps shorter than three nights are not sold
  • Confirmation emails for guest and owner
  • An admin area that works on a phone, with bookings and visitor numbers
  • All existing content moved over from WordPress, and a nightly backup off the server

Technology

Next.js with Prisma and SQLite, on a dedicated VPS. No booking plugin or external platform: availability, pricing rules and payments run inside the site itself, so every rule works exactly the way the owners want.

Result

The site scores 98 out of 100 in my own SEO audit. Guests can now book and pay directly, and the Booking.com and Airbnb calendars stay in step automatically.
