Privacy Policy
In short
- This website sets no tracking cookies and does not follow you — no Google Analytics, no ad networks, no social media buttons looking over your shoulder. We do count how often a page is viewed, but without a cookie and without keeping your IP address; see point 4.
- There is one form: the request form. What you put in it goes straight to our mailbox and past no other party. You can still just email us instead.
- Fonts, images and scripts are served from our own server, not from Google or any other external network.
- We sell nothing on and share nothing with third parties, unless the law obliges us to.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
Buining Design is the data controller for the personal data processed through this website and by email.

2. What data do we process, and why?
Visiting this website
Our hosting provider keeps technical log files of every request to the server. These contain your IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page and the type of browser you use. This happens automatically and is necessary to keep the site running and to detect faults, abuse and attacks.
We do not use these logs to follow visitors or build profiles, and we only look at them when something breaks or when we suspect abuse. The hosting provider deletes them automatically after a short period.
If you use the request form
On the request page we ask for your name, your email address, what your question is about and your message. Your phone number and your website address are optional — we ask for them because they usually make an answer a good deal more concrete.
What you fill in is not stored in a database or a file on the server: the form sends your message by email to info@buiningdesign.com and nothing of it remains on the website. There is no external form service involved; the script runs on the same server as the site. From that moment on your message is ordinary email correspondence, and the retention periods below apply.
The form contains one hidden field that only automated fillers complete, plus a check on how quickly it was submitted. Together those stop most spam. Nothing about your behaviour is recorded and there is no captcha.
If you email or call us
When you get in touch we process the data you provide yourself: your name, your email address or phone number, your company name, your website address and whatever else you put in your message. We use it to answer your question and, if it leads to an assignment, to carry that assignment out.
If you become a client
For a quotation, assignment or invoice we process your business and billing details: name, address, Chamber of Commerce and VAT number, bank details and the agreements we make.

3. Cookies and browser storage
This website sets no cookies. It does keep one technical preference in your own browser's local storage: your choice of the dark or light theme, stored under the name theme. That value stays on your device, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and says nothing about who you are. You can remove it by clearing the site data in your browser.
If you visited this site before, an old cookieConsent value may still be in your browser, left over from the consent banner we have removed. It no longer does anything and disappears as soon as you clear the site data.
So there are no analytics or marketing cookies to ask consent for. The page counter in point 4 works without a cookie and without putting anything on your device. Should we ever use a service that does, we will update this policy and ask for your consent beforehand.
4. Our own page counter
We would like to know whether our pages are being read. For that, a small counting script runs on this server — not Google Analytics and no other external service. It records three things per day: which page was viewed, how often, and the domain name of the site someone clicked through from (for example google.com), without the search query or the full address.
What it does not record: no cookie, no IP address, no identifier that lets us follow you from page to page, and no device details. Two people viewing the same page are indistinguishable to us, and one person reading three pages counts here as three views. Nothing about you personally can be derived from these numbers, which is why no consent is required for them. Data older than 400 days is erased automatically.
5. Who else sees your data?
Only we do, along with the party that makes our website and email technically possible:
- STRATO AG (Germany) — hosting for the website and for our email. The servers are located within the European Union.
Beyond that we do not pass your data to third parties. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. The only exception is a legal obligation, such as invoice records the Dutch tax authority is entitled to inspect.
Your data is not transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area.
6. Artificial intelligence
We build AI workflows, and the news articles on this site are put together automatically. No personal data of visitors is used in that process. No automated decisions are made about you on this site, and no profiling takes place.
If we work together on an assignment that involves third-party AI services, we agree in advance which data is involved and record that in the assignment.
7. Security
The website runs entirely over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. Beyond that we store as little data as possible and keep it no longer than needed — which is the best security there is. Access to our email and our records is protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- see what data we hold about you;
- have data corrected if it is wrong;
- have data erased, insofar as we are not legally required to keep it;
- have the processing restricted, or object to it;
- receive your data in a portable file;
- withdraw any consent you gave, at any time.
Send your request to info@buiningdesign.com. You will have an answer within four weeks. To make sure we do not hand data to the wrong person, we may ask you to send your request from the email address we already know.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, please tell us first — we would rather put it right. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
9. Changes
If something changes about the website or about the way we handle data, we will update this policy. The date of the last change is shown at the top. This version dates from 14 September 2026.
