About the project

Havenmarks is my own product. It started in February 2026 as PIA (Personal Intelligence Assistant) and has been called Havenmarks since October 2026. The old address pia-app.online redirects to havenmarks.com.

What it does

  • An AI summary, tags and a quality score for every page you save
  • Follow-up questions about a saved page, answered from that page
  • Type a topic and get sources back, each with a summary and reading time
  • A new-tab page with email, calendar, tasks and the weather
  • Finding duplicate bookmarks and filling in missing summaries

What I built

One React codebase (React 18, Vite, Tailwind) built two ways: as an extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and as a web app you can install on your phone. Underneath sits a PHP backend with MySQL for accounts, Stripe subscriptions and the AI calls — the keys stay on the server, never in the browser.

The hard part was not the AI but the differences between browsers. Signing in with Google works differently in Chrome than in Firefox and Edge, and every extension store has its own review. All three reviews were passed.

Status

Version 1.2.0 is in the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons and Firefox Add-ons. Havenmarks is free to use; Pro costs € 3 a month. The product has only just launched: I am now watching the first users to see where they get stuck, before adding new features.
